Description

As the South Asian legal community works toward promoting racial and social justice in our community and beyond, SABA-NC invites you to join us for the second in a series of Social Justice Fireside Chats. Come join us as we get to know the work and career of Neha Marathe, Senior Attorney at Legal Advocates for Children and Youth (LACY), a program of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley. Ms. Marathe has devoted her legal career to empowering young people. Her current practice focuses on obtaining legal permanent residency for undocumented immigrant youth through Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and other humanitarian relief. Ms. Marathe also represents pregnant and parenting youth in obtaining domestic violence restraining orders, child custody, and child support. She has advocated for parents and caregivers in securing special education services for their children with disabilities and has defended youth facing expulsion. She has been appointed by the court as minor’s counsel in high-conflict family law and probate guardianship matters. She currently serves as co-chair of the Minor’s Counsel Subcommittee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Prior to joining LACY, Ms. Marathe was a litigation associate at Cooley LLP.
